KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has expelled five of its members. The NC expelled five people from the party as they were opposed to the party’s decision.

Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Coordinator of the Congress Central Disciplinary Committee, issued a statement and informed about this.

“In accordance with Article 34, Clause 4 A of the Constitution of Nepali Congress 2017 with amendments, the following persons are instructed to be removed from the records of the party for a period of five years, if they are running against the party’s official candidate and the candidate supported by the party, and who are proposers or supporters of such candidates,” mentioned in NC’s statement.

The Congress has mentioned in the statement that action has also been taken against rebels, proponents and supporters of rebels and candidates for other parties.

List of persons to be removed from records

1.Mangal Bahadur Shahi – Member of general committee, Humla.
2.Dharmendra Prasad Yadav – Active Member, Bara.
3.Rabindra Prasad Yadav (Roshan) – Convention Representative and District Member, Bara.
4.Birendra Prasad Yadav – Convention Representative, Bara.
5.Ram Ekwal Prasad Yadav (Shilpu) – District Member, Bara.
