‘We saved the party which was about to collapsed by appointing Prachanda as co-chairperson,’ : Oli

KATHMANDU: While remembering his former colleague Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli told the story of a mouse that became a lion.

Addressing the election rally in Raskot, Kalikot on Sunday he remembered Prachanda by narrating the story of mouse and saint.

‘By holding their finger, we make Maoists win 36 seats in 2074.’ We saved the party which was about to collapsed by appointing Prachanda as co-chairperson,’ he explained. I took this step for the sake of the country’s prosperity.’

Oli complained that Prachanda cheated despite the fact that he was in the minority in the party. As I was a minority in the Central Committee Secretariat and all the committees, I made room for them. ‘But as soon as I got a majority in the party, I became greedy and began to play the game of winning over me,’ he said.

He claimed that Prachanda had brought him the same disaster that a saint had when he transformed a mouse into a lion.

A saint first transformed a mouse into a massive lion. However, after transforming into a lion, that mouse attempted to devour saint. Then saint again turn it into mouse, he said, adding that I had also supported him, given him a hand, and united the party when the party was about to collapse. However, they violated the agreement. He then placed me in the minority.

He accused Prachanda of waging a people’s war in Nepal by staying in a foreign land. I don’t regress; I fight regression.
