KATHMANDU: Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ Chairperson of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center), has stated that giving a majority to UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli is akin to tearing the constitution apart again. Chairperson Prachanda made this comment while addressing the election meeting held at Siranchowk Rural Municipality-6, Nayasanghu, Gorkha.

Prachanda, a candidate for Gorkha Constituency No. 2 in the House of Representatives, stated unequivocally that the current Left Democratic Alliance was formed to protect the 70-year-old constitution. “Instead of protecting our achievements, this coalition was formed to protect it after attempting to destroy it,” Chairperson Prachanda explained. “However, regressive, status quo forces do try to raise their heads from time to time.”

He stated that now that everyone’s attention is focused on Gorkha, there is a challenge to win in Gorkha with more votes. “Winning from Gorkha with average votes is not enough; we must send a message to the entire country by winning with more than average votes,” he said.

He stated that the referendum will take place on Nov 20. “On Nov 20, a referendum will be held.” ‘On Nov 20, on one side, there is a coalition that wants to lead the nation, peace, development, and prosperity, while on the other side, there is a force that wants to take the country to a dark tunnel,’ said Prachanda.
