KATHMANDU: England advanced to the final of the ICC T20 World Cup after defeating India by 10 wickets.

England reached the winning target of 169 runs set by India with 4 overs to spare.

In England’s victory, opener Alex Hales scored 86 runs off 47 balls with four fours and seven sixes, while captain Jos Buttler scored 80 runs off 49 balls with nine fours and three sixes. This is a historic T20 partnership for them.

With a winning six, Jos Buttler sent India home. England will now compete for the title against Pakistan on Sunday.

India scored 168 runs in the scheduled 20 overs after losing the toss and batting first.

Hardik Pandya of India scored 63 off 33 balls with four fours and five sixes, while Virat Kohli was dismissed after scoring a half-century.

Despite a respectable half-century from two batsmen, India’s dream was dashed when the bowler failed to get going.

Previously, England won the T20 World Cup in 2010, and Pakistan won it in 2009.
