KATHMANDU: Some Nepali Congress leaders and workers are dissatisfied with the nomination of Man Bahadur Limbu for State Assembly Constituency 1 of Morang 3.

Limbu filed his nomination today, as per the party’s decision following the death of regional candidate Shekhar Chandra Thapa. However, Congress workers have begun a protest demanding that tickets be issued to Shekhar Chandra’s wife, Laxmi Thapa.

The Congress workers have started raising slogans saying that they have given the ticket to Limbu as a member of the state assembly. Limbu was given the ticket after Forest, Environment, and Land Conservation Minister of State 1 Thapa died.

In response, Congress workers surrounded the election officer’s office and yelled slogans. They have demanded that Thapa’s wife be given tickets. They stated that the protest would continue until Thapa’s wife, Laxmi, received the ticket.

Limbu, on the other hand, reached to the election office in Belbari and registered his candidacy. With Limbu’s nomination, he will now face Dilip Rai, a candidate from the UML.
