KATHMANDU: Purushottam Khadka, the man responsible for the manhandled on Birodh Khatiwada, a former minister and coalition candidate from Makwanpur 2, has been released.

According to his secretariat, Makwanpur police released Khadka today at Khatiwada’s request.

Khatiwada, the Unified Socialisti Party leader and former health and population minister, was slapped by Khadka yesterday while campaigning in Makwanpur’s Manahari Rural Municipality-4 Masine. However, the Makwanpur alliance stated yesterday evening that KhatiWada was not slapped by Khadka.

The candidate, Khatiwada, asked Makwanpur Superintendent of Police Bamdev Gautam to release Khadka, who is being held in police custody, without taking any action.

Khadka was handed over to relatives at Khatiwada’s request, according to Makwanpur Police Spokesperson Tek Bahadur Karki.
