EC instructs Toshima not to campaign election by ringing bells

KATHMANDU: Election Commission (EC) has directed Dr. Toshima Karki, the candidate for Lalitpur-3, not to campaign by ringing the bell.

EC issued this directive, stating that ringing the bell while walking disturbs others.

During campaigning and door-to-door campaigning, National Independent Party candidates would walk and ring the party’s symbol, the bell.

At the EC’s all-party meeting on Tuesday, representatives from some parties drew attention to the fact that the National Independent Party’s candidates were ringing bells for campaigning and had violated the code of conduct.
