BIRATNAGAR: Shekhar Chandra Thapa, State 1’s Minister of Forest Environment and Land Conservation, passed away.

Thapa, a Nepali Congress candidate for State Assembly Constituency No. 1 in Morang Constituency 3, died during treatment in the morning.

According to Narayan Dahal, the hospital’s public relations officer, he died while receiving treatment at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar. Thapa was diagnosed with severe pneumonia.

Thapa, who was initially admitted to Nobel Medical College, was referred to Kathmandu’s HAMS Hospital for treatment after his health deteriorated. After three weeks of treatment at HAMS, he was brought back to Biratnagar.

Although his health improved, due to his weakness, he was returned to Biratnagar and treated with the help of continuous oxygen.

Thapa was brought to Biratnagar after wanting to meet employees and voters for the election.
