KATHMANDU: While addressing the election meeting of the Left-Democratic Alliance in Jumla district on Tuesday, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ of the CPN Maoist Center said that he began calling Jaya Nepal after meeting the then-Chairperson of Congress Girija Prasad Koirala.

On the one hand, Girija Prasad Koirala said, “Lal Salam.” On the other hand, I greeted Girija Prasad Koirala with a heartfelt Jai Nepal. ‘And whenever we signed the detailed peace agreement, what it meant was that Girija Prasad Koirala stamped on the hammer and sickle symbol,’ said Lal Salam. I used the Congress tree symbol as the Maoist chairperson. In Nepal, a historic shift was possible.’

During his election speech, Prachanda made it clear at the beginning that he was saying Jai Nepal to the leaders and activists of Jumla.

He told all of the leaders of the five-party alliance taking part in the program to think about the historical context and how wonderful it was that the era of federal democratic republic and peace began with the comprehensive peace agreement, through the Constituent Assembly.

Prachanda stated that no party should be ambivalent about voting in tree, sickle, hammer, and pen symbol. He urged Jumla’s coalition parties and leaders-activists to band together and move forward with determination.

Dahal stated that after the Constituent Assembly promulgated the Constitution, all oppressed, classes, castes, regions, and communities received rights with inclusive and proportional recognition.

He has also stated that even if he formed a left coalition in 2074 on his own proposal, it would not be sustainable.
