BIRATNAGAR: This time, a tripartie clash is taking place in Morang Constituency 3. Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal of the CPN-UML, Sunil Sharma of the Nepali Congress, and Rekha Thapa of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party are all seen as contenders in the upcoming election on Nov 20.

In this way, all of the candidates who have entered the election have claimed victory. UML leader Dhakal, who was elected earlier, believes he will win the election, while Sharma, the alliance’s candidate, believes he will win by two-thirds of the vote.

Thapa, the RPP’s leader and actress, has reached out to voters, saying that she has arrived as a new alternative because voters have been disappointed by the candidates of these two parties. Thapa believes that the Nepali Congress will receive more votes and that she will be elected. Sunil, who is competing, believes that as Rekha is new, she will only gain experience now. Sharma claims that he received the blessings of the voters because the voters’ expectations are at their doorsteps from morning to night.

“They’ve been busy with activities like reaching out to voters, corner meetings, and so on,” Sharma says, adding, “I’ve gotten a great response from the voters.”

Sharma claims that as the leader who won earlier did not visit the constituency, voters are wondering if you are the same.

“We did not win, but we have a new problem,” he says.

He has taken the people’s expectations to go to the state, not to do corruption, to do the people’s work, to make indegenous residents wealthy, to build roads, bridges, and electricity, among other things. Sharma considers his competitor Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal to be his competitor brother Bhanu from Belbari.

‘My competitor is none other than Bhanu Bhakta, he said, he is a tourist candidate, I am a local here,’ Sharma says that he knows all the problems as he has lived here since he was barefoot.

‘I’ve been walking here barefoot,’ he says, ‘and I’m known by everyone; even though I’m a local, everyone has shown me affection.’ He sees no one else as a competitor besides UML.

Only the media, he claims, saw the halo as a challenge. “There is no challenge for us now,” Sharma says, “as Rekha has arrived; this time she will form an organization, and the next time she will try.”

According to Sharma, as she is from the film industry, young people go to take photos and then return. Rekha is currently running for office and gaining experience, which will help her the next time around. She believes the competition will be between the UML and Congress. We are the strongest here, followed by the CPN-UML, and there may be other parties, according to Sharma. Yesterday, Sharma claimed that he lost because the Congress was in disarray, but now he claims that the Congress is in better shape.

“The difference between UML and Congress votes is around 2-300,” Sharma says, “but now that the Maoists have been added to this area, I am ahead by 12,000 votes.”

Jayaraj, a Nepali Congress rebel candidate, takes Limbu for granted. Limbu is expected to influence about 2,000 votes within the Nepali Congress. Sunil claims that he does not have a large number of votes. ‘This person was involved in a crime yesterday,’ says Sharma. Voters know people involved in such crimes; it has no bearing on me.’

Sunil’s main concern is the embankment of Chisang, Lohandra, Dans, Bakraha, and small rivers and creeks. Sharma claims that there is also a water issue that farmers have been dealing with for a long time, despite the fact that it appears to be minor. “roads, Pulpulesa, schools need to be renovated, and many schools should be started with English medium,” Sharma says, adding that “things like electric lights, poles, development construction are citizen demands and my agenda.”

Citizens’ problems are health-related. Sharma claims that the state’s insurance policy is complicated and that it is difficult to jump here and there, but that it will be improved.

He says that he is ready to change the policies to ease the insurance problem. According to Sharma, he entered the election field with the promise to save those who were dying because of lack of money.
