Maoist Rupa village committee chairperson Baral joins UML

POKHARA: Nawaraj Baral, the chairperson of the Rupa Village Committee and a long-time Maoist politician, has joined the UML.

KP Oli, the UML’s chairperson, greeted him with khada (cloth).

For a time, Baral was involved in both the student movement and journalism. He is also an author.

Similarly, Shankar Bahadur Gautam, a former district education officer, and journalist Krishna Bahadur Thapa, among others, joined UML on Monday.
