United Socialist Manifesto: Resolution to conduct anti-corruption campaign

KATHMANDU: The CPN Unified Socialist Party has released their election manifesto. In a program held at the Central Office Aloknagar, General Secretary Beduram Bhusal and other leaders announced the manifesto.

The manifesto states that their first priority is to protect the significant achievements made in the country through the long and sacrificial struggle of the Nepalese people.

Similarly, the CPN Unified Socialist Party has concluded that corruption has become a serious disease of the country’s economy as a whole.

The party stated in its election manifesto released on Monday for the upcoming elections in Nov 20 that corruption is one of the main reasons why the party has not made significant progress in the economic sector.

“Due to corruption, problems such as the allocation of funds not reaching the target groups and communities, poor quality of development works or unnecessary cost increases have taken root”, the CPN Unified Socialist said – “Our party is determined to conduct a campaign to eliminate corruption from the entire Nepali society.”

Considering that extravagant lifestyles are a major factor in corruption, our people’s representatives will pay special attention to living an exemplary simple life. Our people’s representatives will pay special attention to organizing various family or cultural events at their homes or celebrating festivals in a simple manner with as little expense as possible’, CPN mentioned in the manifesto of socialist.

Since the current election system is very expensive and corrupt, the reform of the system has been emphasized. It is said in the manifesto, ‘Basically, only those who spend a lot of money can win. It is also complicated and no party can win a majority. When no single party gets a single majority, a coalition government will be formed and it will be unstable and will not be able to do the work of development.’
