Toshima of National Independent Party appealing the EC’s decision to SC

KATHMANDU: Dr. Toshima Karki, whose candidacy was rejected, will appeal the Election Commission’s decision to the Supreme Court today.

The Commission had revoked Karki’s candidacy stating that she had filed candidacy without resigning as an individual holding an office of profit.

Karki, a National Independent Party candidate for Lalitpur-3, was rejected by the Election Commission.

Karki stated that she will appeal the commission’s decision to the Supreme Court today at 11 a.m.

Karki is an elected member of the Nepal Medical Council (NMC). She was found to have received allowances for attending NMC meetings and making inspection visits, according to a source at the Commission.
