KATHMANDU: CPN (S) Unified Socialists will release the election manifesto on Monday. S has prepared to release the election manifesto on Monday afternoon.

It is said that a manifesto based on prosperity and socialism including economic and social transformation has been prepared for the next House of Representatives (HoR) as well as State Assembly elections to be held on Nov 20.

The manifesto, with special emphasis on people’s rights, basic health education and diet, aims to achieve economic prosperity through production and employment. 15 point slogans are included in the manifesto mentioned about investing in physical infrastructure for development. Emphasis has been placed on the development of mining, agriculture, livestock, industry and tourism.

Issues including national self-respect, protection of the constitution and strengthening of the federal democratic republic as well as good governance and transparency have been mentioned in the manifesto.

The goal is to end social discrimination, maintain justice, equality and develop a self-sufficient and self-reliant economy by developing domestic industry. General secretary of the party, Dr. Beduram Bhusal informed that working for the benefit of the backward areas and communities, and ending all kinds of exploitation and harassment, including meter usage, is a priority.

He said, ‘The first is the policy commitment and the second is the program plan.’ According to a member of the party’s manifesto drafting committee, the policy commitment has emphasized on protecting the constitution and order and changing the current election system.

General Secretary Bhusal informed that the issue of constructing the East-West Canal connecting the rivers from the east to the far west of Nepal is included in the manifesto. He said that irrigation is necessary to increase agricultural production and irrigation can be arranged in most areas of Madhesh that are not irrigated by constructing the East West municipality.
