Elon Musk reportedly fires top Twitter executives as he takes over company

KATHMANDU: Elon Musk is said to have completed his $44 billion takeover of Twitter, assuming control and firing several top executives.

Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, top legal and policy executive Vijaya Gadde, and general counsel Sean Aget are among thoe titter executives who have been fired.

Musk faces a Friday deadline to complete his deal to buy Twitter.

It was unclear whether he had halted the acquisition while dismissing the executives.

Musk paid a visit to the company’s San Francisco headquarters on Wednesday, carrying a sink, and has said he is purchasing the company “to try to help humanity”.

“The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important to the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence,” he wrote.
