NC releasing manifesto

KATHMANDU: The main ruling Nepali Congress (NC) is releasing the manifesto prepared to target the upcoming elections on Nov 20 at 10:30 am today.

According to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel, the manifesto will be made public at 10.30 a.m. on Monday during a program at the party’s central office in Sanepa.

Poudel stated that the manifesto will be announced from the party office in Sanepa by Prime Minister and Party Chairperson Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Although it was supposed to be announced on Sunday, it was postponed as Deuba was returning from Dhangadhi and Surkhet after participating in the alliance’s workers’ gathering.

Leaders including General Minister Gagan Thapa will also participate in the manifesto public event. The coordinator of the manifesto drafting committee and another general minister Bishwa Prakash Sharma is in the election campaign of Jhapa constituency No. 1.

The Congress Manifesto Preparation Committee, of which Sharma was the coordinator, worked by forming two sub-committees. A Study and Analysis Subcommittee and a Preliminary Drafting Subcommittee were formed by the Committee.

Swarnim Wagle chaired the committee’s manifesto initial draft subcommittee. The subcommittee included Geja Sharma Wagle, Pratap Paudel, Krishna Prasad Paudel, Dipesh Ghimire, and Preeti Mandal.
