KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress ward committee in Dadeldhura has decided to boycott the upcoming representative and state assembly elections.

The Nepali Congress ward committee of Bhageshwar Rural Municipality-5 in the district has decided to boycott the election as there is no basis for faithfully meeting the demands placed for the ward’s overall development.

The decision to boycott the election and not vote for any candidate was made by the majority, according to Ward Chairperson Jung Bahadur Thapa Magar’s statement.

“In the state assembly and representative assembly elections, a majority vote has been passed to not vote for any candidate who boycotted the election when there is no basis for faithfully meeting the demands made by the ward committee for the development of the ward as a whole,” the statement said.

It has also been stated that the Ward Committee will not discuss addressing those demands with district-level leaders, but only with the party chairperson, Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the Prime Minister.
