KATHMANDU: In the House of Representatives, 2,412 candidates have been nominated. For the upcoming House of Representatives election, 2,412 candidates from across the country have registered.

The Election Commission reports that 62 political parties and independents have registered their candidacies.

According to Election Commission data, the CPN-UML has registered 141 candidates, the Nepali Congress has registered 91, the CPN-Maoist Center has registered 46, the CPN-Unified Samajwadi Party has registered 21, and the Janata Samajwadi Party has registered 79.

Similarly, the RPP, led by Rajendra Lingden, has registered its candidacy in 140 places, according to the Commission’s statistics. In addition, RPP has become the second party to register its candidacy, following UML.

Similarly, the National Independent Party, led by Rabi Lamichhane, who left the media to enter politics, has registered to run for House of Representatives seats in 131 districts, according to the commission.

The party has not registered to run for a seat in the state assembly. The National Independent Party has registered its candidacy in 131 of the 165 House of Representatives constituencies, making it the third-largest party. As a result, the CPN-UML has registered its candidacy in the majority of places.
