Increasing engagement of candidates, Rita says: ‘Voters’ grievances will be addressed’

BIRATNAGAR: In recent days, the candidate’s daily life has changed. As the elections approach, candidates from all regions are rushing to meet with voters. The candidate’s daily life has shifted from tole meetings to ward meetings to village meeting to door.

The parties are seen doing internal homework after the Election Commission implemented a code of conduct that allows gatherings, assemblies, and conferences to be held only after Kartik 17 (Nov 3).

Rita Neupane is one of those people who is always on the go. Rita, a CPN-UML candidate in Morang Region No. 6 State Region 1, says she works from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

She claims that she meets with her voters every morning according to her schedule. “With the elections approaching, I’ve met with and listened to voters and citizens.”

“The voters have one thing, the people’s representatives who were elected and sent did not come to their constituencies on a regular basis,” she said. Neupane, who entered politics through the education sector, the women’s movement, and social affairs, says she now campaigns in villages.

“Not only those who rose and were elected in the 2074 election but also those who were defeated came to the constituency and did not support the citizens in their sorrows and joys,” Rita says, adding that voters will choose the female youth candidate in this election.

Rita Neupane, who led the effort to spread the light of education by operating a school in Budhiganga Rural Municipality ward number 3, says that when she goes to the polls, the voters are excited. She stated that only he has a vision for policy and development. “I’ve heard that some people are working under the guise of their father-in-law to influence voters,” she said.

She stated that as there are many women’s issues in her district, she has taken steps to address them.

Jeevan Acharya, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s son-in-law, is running for the alliance in Morang region number 6. (1). He also claims that he meets with voters in his district every day. In the 2074 election, he was defeated by Nepali Congress leader Chumnarayan Tabdar.
