Writ against candidature of 9 including Gachhadar, Sah, Pandey Joshi revoked
Anil Acharya, an advocate, filed a writ against nine candidates, including them.
KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court revoked a writ petition challenging the election candidacy of nine candidates, including Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, Prabhu Sah, Bikram Pandey, and Govindraj Joshi.
A single bench of the court, led by advocate Anil Kumar Sinha, revoked the petitions. The case against Gachchdar, Pandey, and Joshi is still pending in court.
Prabhu Sah, who ran as an independent candidate from Rautahat 3, was implicated in the murder of Kashi Tiwari of Birgunj, and his case was withdrawn by the Attorney General’s Office, as stated in the writ.
Anil Acharya, an advocate, filed a writ against nine candidates, including them.
Likewise, the writ filed against Yuddh Bikram Tamang, Tek Bahadur Gurung, Laxmi Mahato, Rwatiraj Puri, and Sarita Giri was revoked. Giri had stated her opposition to Nepal’s territorial integrity.
A writ was filed against the sued and disputed images, demanding that they be barred from running in the elections and that their candidacies be revoked.
