Birendranagar’s market closed due to banks’ high interest rates

SURKHET: Various business associations have called for the closure of Surkhet’s Birendranagar market today (Thursday) in protest of banks’ high-interest rates.

Today, a gathering of business organizations at the Surkhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry issued a statement calling for a shutdown.

According to the statement, Birendranagar business owners will protest by closing their doors today. The Joint Struggle Committee, which was formed yesterday, also requested that the borrowers refrain from paying quarterly interest and installments.
