KATHMANDU: Ram Kumari Jhakri, Secretary of the CPN United Socialist Party and former Urban Development Minister, has declared her candidacy for the position of Member of the House of Representatives from Gulmi Region No. 2.

Former minister Jhakri registered her candidacy as a joint candidate of the Left Democratic Alliance at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

According to a Congress leader, candidate Jhakri is certain to win as she is the Left Democratic Alliance’s common candidate.

Similarly, Gokarna Bista, secretary of the CPN-UML, has registered his candidacy from the same region. Even if leader Bista, one of the UML’s ten brothers, receives a ticket in the election, it is expected that Chairperson KP Sharma Oli’s party will not cooperate.

Oli, the chairperson of the revenge alliance with UML leaders Bhim Rawal and Ghanashyam Bhusal, is concerned that the other ten points group leaders will avenge them by defeating them in the elections.

In the most recent local elections, the UML received 30,872 votes, while the ruling coalition received 32,376 votes.
