KATHMANDU: Kumar Thapa, the coach of the Nepali women’s national football team, has announced that he will step down as coach.

Coach Thapa has stated that he will leave his position following the conclusion of the SAFF Women’s Championship final on Monday.

He stated that it was inappropriate for him to remain in the position because he could not obtain the degree and that he would resign. Thapa was given the job at the start of this tournament. Thapa’s coaching career came to an end in the semi-finals in 2016. At the time, India became an impediment in the competition in Siliguri.

Despite the fact that India was eliminated in the semi-finals, Nepal was defeated in the final by Bangladesh. Bangladesh has won the SAFF Women’s Championship for the first time.

For the fifth time, Nepal was defeated in the final. This is the first time Nepal has been defeated in women’s football at Dasharath Stadium.
