District Judges across the country to be posted as Chief Electoral Officers

KATHMANDU: District judges from across the country will be appointed as Chief Electoral Officers in the Nov 20 state and House of Representatives elections.

The Judicial Council has recommended that 77 district judges be appointed as Chief Electoral Officers for the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assembly.

As a backup, the council has appointed 17 more district judges. Election officers have been recommended for 88 judicial employees.

Similarly, 20 additional people have been advised to serve as backup election officers. The Election Commission will appoint them based on the Council’s recommendation.
