Landslide in Achham, four dead

KATHMANDU: Four people were killed in a landslide in Achham after three days of nonstop rain.

Some have gone missing, according to District Police Chief DSP Narayan Dangi.

Landslides occurred in Turmakhand, Thantikandh, and Dhakari on Friday night. Seven people have gone missing as a result of the landslide in Turmakhand, and two houses have been destroyed. The bodies of four people were discovered in the prison, according to DSP Dangi.

In the Thantikandh landslide, nine people have gone missing and two houses have been washed away. Similarly, a landslide in Dhakari swept away a house, leaving three people missing. Police have been called in to assist with rescue and search operations at the landslide site.
