Closure list of 2074 not be maintained

KATHMANDU: The closed list of candidates submitted by political parties for the election of members of the House of Representatives and members of the State Assembly in 2074 will be removed at 12 a.m. on Sept 17.

Based on the National Assembly’s suggestions, the National Concerns and Coordination Committee’s letter dated Sept 13, and the meeting with political parties on Sept 14, the Election Commission has decided to set a time period during which the closed list will not be automatic.

The information of the said decision will be given to the House of Representatives, the State House, the National Concerns and Coordination Committee of the Federal Parliament, the National Assembly, and the political parties, according to a statement issued by Shaligram Sharma Paudel, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Commission, and it has also been decided to publish it in the Nepal Gazette.
