KATHMANDU: The UML has proposed not asking any additional questions to suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana.

It was proposed at the General Prosecution Recommendation Committee meeting to collect more documents without asking additional questions.

A member of the recommendation committee, UML MP Krishna Bhakta Pokharel, proposed gathering more evidence.

“First, let JB Rana sign the committee’s record on the matter that Cholendra mentioned previously.” Let’s gather the necessary evidence, and if we need to request documents, he added, “After that, let’s prepare a list of supplementary questions and ask supplementary questions, and the process will be consistent.”

As a result, the committee is no longer asking counter-questions and is requiring Cholendra to sign the previous statement. The ruling coalition’s parliamentarians have the ability to ask follow-up questions.

Meanwhile, parliamentarians couldn’t agree on whether or not to sign the committee’s report to suspendede Chief Justice JB Rana.
