KATHMANDU: Chinese People’s Congress Chairperson Li Zhanshu, who is visiting Nepal, is meeting President Bidya Devi Bhandari today.

A meeting with the Chairperson has been scheduled at 4 pm at Sheetal Niwas.

Chairperson Li will first visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square. He plans to spend about an hour in Bhaktapur. He met with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Maoist Center Chairperson Prachanda, CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, and other leaders on Tuesday.

Li Zhanshu arrived in Kathmandu on Monday. He also met with Speaker Agni Sapkota on the same day.

Roads to be affected throughout the day

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, when President Lee departs for high-level meetings and visits, traffic in the capital will be disrupted throughout the day. The office has stated that VVIP rides will cause traffic problems in various areas of the Kathmandu Valley.

Also, the office has asked to use alternative routes. Around 9 am Rabi Bhawan, Soaltee Hotel, Kalimati, Teku, Bhote Bahal, Tripureshwor, Thapathali, Maitighar, New Baneshwor, Koteshwor, Jadibuti, Lokantali, Kaushaltar, Gathaghar, New Thimi, Radhe Radhe, Sallaghari, Sainik Residential University, District Hospital, Cancer From the hospital, Kalopati, Byasi, CDI office to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, traffic will be affected.

Traffic will be affected around 3.30 p.m. to Soaltee Hotel, Kalimati, Teku, Tripureshwor, Nagasthan, Goshwara Post Office, Mahankal, Bhotahiti, Jamal, Kesarmahal, Lainchaur, Sangrila Hotel, Panipokhari, and Sheelat Niwas. At the time, the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office requested that drivers take an alternate route to make their journey more convenient.

Zhanshu, the third-ranking member of the Chinese Communist Party, has been given the honor of VVIP guest by the government. On Sunday, the Central Security Committee meeting presided over by Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, directed all four security agencies to ensure that Li’s travel and residence are secure during his visit.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Li is leading a 67-member delegation that includes six high-ranking Chinese officials, security personnel, media personnel, and other staff.

After completing his visit, Chairperson Li is scheduled to return home tomorrow morning.
