Shyam as the chairperson of Kirat Rai Journalists Association Kathmandu, with Dhanbal as secretariat

KATHMANDU: The Valley Coordination Committee of the Kirat Rai Journalist Association in Kathmandu has a new leader.
The 5th session, held on Friday at the Kirat Rai Yayokhha headquarters, elected a new 7-member working committee led by journalist Shyam Rai. Makal Rai and Babita have been appointed vice chairs of the committee, and Dhanbal Rai has been appointed secretary.
Similarly, Jenny Rai has got the responsibility of the treasurer and joint secretary Tej Kirati. The committee will have 9 members and the remaining 2 members will be appointed after the first meeting of the committee.
Meanwhile, Ganesh Rai, the founder and chairperson of the Kirat Rai Journalist Association, was honored in the program. Rai, who was a special guest at the event, was honored by the committee by tying a feta (kind of dress worn in head) in Kirati tradition and receiving a certificate.
Avatar Rai, the coordinator of the 5th central convention of Kirat Rai Journalists’ Association, was the chief guest in the program, while Krishna Jit Rai, the member-secretary of the organizing committee, and Sandeep Rai, the outgoing central secretary of Kirat Rai Journalists’ Association, were also present.
