KATHMANDU: The working group formed for the distribution of seats in the ruling coalition is meeting. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

Following the meeting, the task force is preparing to submit the task force’s report to the top leaders today. The report is said to have been prepared during yesterday evening’s meeting in Baluwatar.

Communication Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, who is also the government’s spokesperson, stated that the final form of the report will be presented at today’s meeting. We prepared a report in accordance with the authority we were given. The final shape will be determined at the 9 a.m. meeting. “We will submit the report to top management today,” he said.

However, he refused to reveal the number of available seats. The five-party ruling coalition has agreed to coordinate the election scheduled for Mangsir 4 (Nov 20).

For that, a working group was formed on Aug 5 to reach an agreement on issues including seat distribution. The seat allocation was supposed to be finalized within Shrawan (July/August).

However, due to the parties’ respective positions, the working group was unable to reach an agreement on seat distribution.
