KATHMANDU: Passenger vehicle route permits will be available throughout Nepal, from Dashain’s Ghatasthapana to Kojagrat Purnima.

The decision was made today during a meeting of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, the Department of Transport Management, the Traffic Police, and transportation professionals.

Tokraj Pandey, Director General of the Transport Management Department, announced that it has been decided to open route permits for passenger vehicles throughout Nepal from Ghatasthapana to Kojagrat Purnima so that passengers do not have to suffer during Dashain and can travel easily.

Similarly, it has been decided to give discounts to passengers who book tickets online, to follow health standards to avoid corona infection, to avoid crowding in food establishments, to monitor unauthorized counters, and to discourage the buying and selling of tickets by people who do not have identity cards.

It has also been decided that cargo vehicles other than those carrying essential materials will not be permitted to travel from Narayangadh to Kathmandu from the Ashoj 15-22 (Oct 1-8).
