POKHARA: The then-CPN won the majority in the 2074 State and House of Representatives elections. Gandaki State Assembly had 39 members, including UML and Maoists. A party with 31 MPs can form the government in this case.

The Congress, which appeared to be in a weak position in the previous elections, is now determined to form a unified government in Gandaki. Congress received some relief following the dissolution of the then CPN. Furthermore, there is now a power coalition.

The then-CPN won the majority in the 2074 State and House of Representatives elections. Gandaki State Assembly had 39 members, including UML and Maoists. A party with 31 MPs can form the government in this case.

Shukraraj Sharma, the state president of the Congress, has also nominated himself to be a proportional member of the state legislature this year. According to leaders close to him, he is also running for Chief Minister. Heavyweight leaders from other districts have also applied for the Chief Ministership in the State.

The majority of the current parliamentarians are eager to repeat. Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel, the state’s chief minister, has left the state to join the House of Representatives. According to sources close to him, he is planning to introduce proportional representation in the House of Representatives.

District President Mahendradhwaj intends to run in this election from his district. Arjun Joshi, a former Member of Parliament, is also set to become a State Assembly Member of Parliament.
