Recommendation for journalist Shrestha, Bhattarai & Kunwar candidates

KATHMANDU: The CPN Unified Socialist Central Propaganda Department has recommended Shambhu Shrestha, Chamina Bhattarai, and Rajendra Kunwar for candidacy in the upcoming House of Representatives and State Assembly member elections.
The third full meeting, held today at the party office under the chairpersonship of the department head and party deputy general secretary Jagannath Khatiwada, recommended Shrestha as a federal MP and Bhattarai and Kunwar to the state assembly direct system on a proportional basis from Bara 3 a and Achham 1 a, respectively.
The meeting, according to department secretary Prakash Khatiwada, will focus on the upcoming elections on Nov 20 and will intensify the department’s and various officials and central members of socialists Press Organization Nepal’s propaganda. The department has also requested suggestions from department members and journalists for points to be covered in the party manifesto.
Before the elections, the department will continue the ‘Kalam’ news portal and magazine, publish the party mouthpiece ‘Samajwad’ as a journal, widely mobilize social media and media, organize regular meet press’ events, and connect party leaders and candidates on social media. It has also decided to expand the organization, publish and produce promotional materials, and so on.
On that occasion, Party Deputy General Secretary Khatiwada stated that efforts are being made to gain more seats from the current alliance, that they are working closely with the CPN-Maoist Center on various issues, and that if the alliance fails, a left front could be formed.
Meanwhile, Damodar Aryal, another deputy mayor of the department, announced that the Socialists Press Organization will hold Lumbini, Karnali, and Far West level gatherings and meetings in Bhadra (Aug/Sept).
