JB Rana, who was present to give a statement before the Parliament's impeachment recommendation committee, stated that
KATHMANDU: Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana, the suspended Chief Justice (CJ), has stated that he was impeached in order to make KMC Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Karki the Chief Justice.
JB Rana, who was present to give a statement before the Parliament’s impeachment recommendation committee, stated that “all these games” were played to make the person behind him the Chief Justice.
“They’re trying to make the person behind me the Chief Justice,” he told the committee. For that, I was impeached.
Similarly, he stated that such a proposal had been made to him and that he had rejected it because the judiciary does not operate in this manner.
He said, “Even when 3-4 proposals came to me, I refused to say that the judiciary does not work like this.” All this has been done to make Deepak Karki the Chief Justice.
