KATHMANDU: The statement by the impeachment recommendation committee began with suspended Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana.

JB Rana began taking statements in a private room. When the Grand Prosecution Committee debated whether to open closed-door statements, the statement was postponed for a while.

Although JB Rana reached Singh Durbar at 11 a.m. to give a statement about the charges against him, his statement began around 1 p.m.

The ruling party’s MPs filed an impeachment motion against JB Rana on Feb 13. He was then automatically suspended.
