KATHMANDU: Mahendra Yadav, joint general secretary of the Nepali Congress, has requested the government to help and organize the transportation sector during the festival.

Joint Chief Minister Yadav met with Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand today, drawing his attention to the importance of ensuring safe travel and smooth transportation in public transportation as major festivals approach.

Yadav, who is also the head of the outgoing Transport Coordination Department of the Congress, also discussed the constitution of the Truck Traders Federation.

Madhusudan Bhattarai, the press coordinator for Home Minister Khand, stated that he has discussed moving forward by including current issues in the transportation sector in the legislation.

Home Minister Khand stated during the meeting that the government is aware of the importance of smooth traffic management during the festival.

He clarified that he is already taking steps to organize and make transportation more convenient as the main festival approaches. Tek Narayan Pandey, the Home Secretary, was also present at the meeting.
