Lightning killed three people from the same village

KATHMANDU: Three women from the same village were killed by lightning today in Rautahat’s Garuda Municipality-3 Malahi tole.

All three were struck by lightning while working in the fields.

Sudnia Devi, 39, Jagiya Kumari, 70, and Manisha Kumari, 18, of Malahi village, were killed, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rupesh Kumar Singh. Sudnia and Jagiya are from the same family.

Saily Devi, 40, has been injured by lightning.

Meanwhile, Chief Administrative Officer Ram Babu Yadav informed that Kanthmani Jaiswal, chief of Garuda Municipality, reached the spot and assured to help the victim’s family.
