In Pics: Teej festival being celebrated enthusiastically

KATHMANDU: Hindu Nepalese women are joyfully celebrating the Haritalika Teej festival. On Teej, it is believed that fasting and worshiping Shiva Parbati will bring good luck.

Devotees are flocking to temples across the country, including Pashupatinath Temple, as of this belief. Since 3 a.m., the Pashupatinath temple has been open to the public.

In Pashupati, all four doors have been opened for the first time in 14 years. The fasting women are now worshiping and dancing here. Teej is also regarded as a festival for socializing with friends and relatives.
