KATHMANDU: The Citizenship Bill reached the National Assembly 10 days after it is passed by the House of Representatives.

The bill will be introduced at the National Assembly meeting at 1 p.m. According to the possible agenda, the Secretary of the National Assembly, Rajendra Phuyal, will inform the meeting about the message received from the House of Representatives regarding the ‘Nepal Citizenship (First Amendment) Bill 2079,’ which the President has returned for reconsideration.

Previously, on July 31, the Citizenship Bill was passed by both houses of the Federal Parliament and sent to the President for approval.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari, on the other hand, sent the bill back to the House of Representatives, requesting reconsideration.

The House of Representatives already passed the returned bill on August 18. If the Bill is approved by the National Assembly, it will be sent to the President for revalidation.
