Floods in Bishnumati, call for caution

KATHMANDU: The water level in Kathmandu Valley’s rivers and streams has risen as a result of the rain.

Heavy rainfall has been recorded in Jitpur and the surrounding areas of the Bishnumati and Balkhu rivers.

The Department of Water and Meteorology’s flood forecast division has reported that the water level in Bishnumati has reached the alert level. Water from the Bishnumati and Balkhu rivers is expected to enter coastal roads and settlements.

The department has requested that motorists exercise caution when traveling along the riverside road.
