187 drivers driving under the influence of alcohol prosecuted

KATHMANDU: The traffic police have taken action against 3,431 drivers in Kathmandu valley on the same day.

Due to violation of traffic rules, they were taken action at different places of the valley on Thursday.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 197 people have been taken action for driving under the influence of alcohol, 103 for failing to follow lane discipline, and 75 for driving through red lights.

Similarly, action has been taken against 291 drivers who honked in prohibited areas and 31 drivers who failed to properly maintain their license plates.

Other actions have been taken against 2,744 drivers, according to the office.
