Parliamentary committee directs the government to organize railway services
According to Chairperson Khadka, the government has been directed to prioritize environmental and wildlife protection.

KATHMANDU: The Development and Technology Committee of the House of Representatives has directed the government to organize the train service running from Kurtha in Nepal to Jayanagar in India.
The committee meeting held at Singha Durbar on Wednesday directed the government to organize the train service, stating that many problems had arisen due to a lack of attention for the operation of the 35 km train service.
Kalyani Khadka, the committee’s chairperson, stated that all necessary infrastructures, such as manpower, a maintenance workshop, and the establishment of a fuel center, have been instructed to improve the railway service.
She also said that the construction of the necessary electrical structures on the railways has been given priority, so as to give priority to the operation of the electric trains.
Similarly, the meeting directed that the contract process be initiated only after the completion of preparatory work for the upgrading of Nepal’s oldest and most important East-West Highway and that the work be carried out in such a way that the deficiencies seen in the construction of the Narayangadh-Butwal road are not repeated on that road section.
According to Chairperson Khadka, the government has been directed to prioritize environmental and wildlife protection.
During the meeting, Gopal Prasad Sigdel, Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, stated that the employees were removed due to a long period of no train operation and that there is now a problem as the methods and procedures for hiring employees are lengthy.
He clarified that canceling the contract of those who do not perform quality work on time is not a problem.
Similarly, parliamentarians suggested that there is an unnatural delay in the construction of national-importance projects.
