Balen’s answer to those asking for compensation – ask the landlord

KATHMANDU: Balen Shah, the Mayor of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has asked the shopkeepers who are renting the illegally constructed structures to demand compensation from their landlords.

He has said to the shopkeepers who said that they have suffered losses and need compensation, ‘Whoever made the structure illegally and rented it, he will pay the compensation.

Mayor Shah has reached the New Road area today with a large number of policemen and dozers to remove the unauthorized structures.
