General Election: who gets how many seats? Power coalition not yet been finalized
The working group meeting to finalize the standard will be held today at 5:00 pm.
KATHMANDU: A working group formed by the ruling coalition to agree on the allocation of seats will meet today. The meeting of the top leaders held on Tuesday put pressure on the working group to finalize the standards by Thursday.
The top leaders’ meeting, held in the prime minister’s office, Bharwataar, ended inconclusively as the criteria for the allocation of seats were not met. The working group meeting to finalize the standard will be held today at 5:00 pm.
A working group discussing various formulas prepared to finalize the distribution of seats based on the party’s area of control, based on direct, proportional and previous local election results for the 2074 elections.
Within the five-party coalition, elections to the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections have seen a solid distribution of seats. At the five-party meeting of the ruling coalition held Tuesday in Balwataar, the prime minister’s office, the leaders were divided into two factions.
The meeting, which was also attended by members of the Working Group on Seat Allocation, was attended by leaders of the Nepalese parliament on the one hand and leaders of other political parties affiliated to the alliance on the other hand.
