Candidates will be picked up with consensus of coalition: Leader Shrestha

KATHMANDU: Krishna Kumar Shrestha, a central member of the CPN (United Socialist Party) and MP, said the candidate for the Tanahun Region No. 1 would be decided on the basis of an agreement between the coalition parties.
At a press conference held today in Damauli, Shrestha MP said there was a lot of discussion about the candidacy in Tanahun Constituency 1, so the coalition’s candidate will be decided by consensus.
He said: “According to previous agreements between political parties, whoever wins is said to run from this place, so it is natural for me to demand Tanahun-1.”
Stating that he is an honest soldier of the party, he should accept what the party says, he said, “I am ready even if the party asks to go to Kanchanpur, Bara, Jhapa to contest the election.”
He pointed out the need to strengthen the alliance. “We came to this alliance through many sacrifices and austerity measures, and we must continue to move it forward,” he said.
