Parliament adjourned after passing a resolution regarding the death of Pradeep Giri
The next House of Representatives meeting has been scheduled for August 23 at 10:00 a.m.
KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting was adjourned after the condolence resolution was passed.
The meeting on Monday passed a resolution of condolence in response to the death of Congress MP Pradeep Giri. In the meeting, Speaker Agni Sapkota read out the condolence proposal. The next House of Representatives meeting has been scheduled for August 23 at 10:00 a.m.
Similarly, the National Assembly meeting on Monday passed a condolence resolution expressing grief over Giri’s death. The National Assembly’s next meeting has been postponed until August 28.
Giri passed away on Saturday at the age of 75. He was an elected member from Siraha District Region No. 5 in the 2051 House of Representatives Election, a proportional member in the 2064 and 2070 Constituent Assembly Elections, and an elected member from Siraha District Region No. 1 in the 2074 House of Representatives Election.
Giri was cremated on Sunday at Pashupati Aryaghat.
