KATHMANDU: Niharika Rajput ended her hunger strike after reaching an agreement with the government on three points.

Rajput ended her hunger strike in the presence of Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Govinda Prasad Koirala on Sunday after reaching an agreement on three points with Kathmandu Chief District Officer Govinda Prasad Rijal.

She had been on a 17-day hunger strike for various reasons. According to the memorandum of understanding, the government lawyer will request the DNA test of the case under consideration in the High Court Janakpur on behalf of Jaherwala, in accordance with Rajput’s demand and request.

It is stated that they will ask the court to adopt the necessary procedure to make the DNA test reliable, and since the demand has been met, Rajput’s hunger strike will end today. It has also been agreed to ask the court to implement the necessary procedures to ensure the reliability of the DNA test.

She was on a hunger strike while receiving treatment at the Maharajgunj University Teaching Hospital after attempting self-immolation by splashing petrol in front of the Office of the President of Nepal, Sheetal Niwas.
