Instructions not to conduct Constituency Infrastructure Development Programme

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has directed the Government of Nepal, the State Government, and the local level not to implement any new programs or plans and budgets that are not specified in the Constituency Infrastructure Development Program.

In this regard, the Commission has directed those bodies not to conduct or implement any new projects or programs that are not specified in the state election infrastructure development program or similar nature plans and budgets that affect voters and the cleanliness and fairness of the election.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by Shaligram Sharma Paudel, the commission’s spokesperson, such plans and programs may affect voters and may directly affect the fairness and neutrality of the overall election, with the exception of preparing for a disaster or an epidemic or taking action related to disaster management in the event of a disaster or providing humanitarian aid or adopting necessary measures to deal with it in the event of a health epidemic. It has been requested that no new projects or programs be conducted or implemented.
