Complaint to parliamentary committee for failure to reduce price of petroleum products

KATHMANDU: The National Consumer Forum has filed a complaint with the Parliamentary Committee against Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) for failing to reduce petroleum product prices.

Premlal Maharjan, the forum’s chairperson, petitioned the House Industry and Commerce and Labor and Consumer Welfare Committees, demanding an immediate reduction in fuel prices.

According to the petition, despite the constant decrease in the price of fuel, the corporation has not reduced the price.

According to the petition submitted by Chairperson Maharjan, consumers suffer when the corporation does not reduce the price under various pretexts.

He has also demanded that consumers be given relief by lowering prices in accordance with the reduced prices.
