KATHMANDU: The working group formed to allocate seats will submit its report on August 23. The ruling coalition’s 11-member working group formed to distribute seats for the upcoming parliamentary elections will submit its report to the coalition by August 23.
According to Himlal Puri, a member of the working group and Jan Morcha leader, a report with recommendations for seat distribution is being prepared and will be submitted by August 23.
“We will submit a proposal with the distribution of 165 seats among coalition parties,” Puri stated.
The committee also examined the parties’ past and present situations and concluded that the number of seats should be distributed.
The working group, which was formed on August 5, includes Congress members Krishna Prasad Sitaula, Gagan Thapa, and Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.
Similarly Barsaman Pun and Dev Gurung from the Maoist Center, Vice Chairperson Pramesh Hamal and General Secretary Beduram Bhusal from CPN-S, Rakam Chemjong and Ram Sahai Prasad Yadav from JSP and Himlal Puri and Anand Sharma from the Rashtriya Jan Morcha Party.
